Topiary, the art of shaping plants to create living sculpture, was a natural source of inspiration for Michelle, whose love of art and gardening originally produced a series of watercolor paintings featuring whimsical topiary hats. She has continually added new designs to her collections, delighting patrons of regional art shows and gift/home decor stores across the nation. When discussing her work Michelle smiles and responds, "I can be much more creative on paper than I can with actual living plants!". She has created designs that appeal to all tastes, from the popular, "Cat and Butterfly" image to designs featuring fashion and a series created for Ethan Allen's children's wall decor line.
Initially featuring small framed watercolors, Michelle later incorporated new "canvases" for her creations. Handpainted pillows were the first new items to feature her topiary designs, followed by stationery, fine linens and marble coasters. Currently Michelle Masters Topiary Art produces a full line of elegant and upscale home decor items featuring the unique images that have led to her success.
Michelle Masters Topiary Art began 7 years ago when Michelle left a promising career in computer graphic design in order to pursue her dream of painting full-time. She has realized her dream by starting a home based business which helps support her family while allowing her to stay at home and be a full-time mom to son Jackson (3 yrs) and daughter Lauren (6 mos).
